2009 Longhorn Open

Texas A&M won its 4th straight Longhorn Open on Saturday, November 14, claiming the Men’s, Women’s, and Combined titles! We took 3 Men’s 1st places and 5 Women’s 1st places, taking 2nd in 4 of those 8 classes as well.
The Aggies set a couple American records and many, many state records. Also, team records and PR’s were broken all day long.
Of special note is Alesha Summers (SR, 97 lb) breaking the OPEN state total record with her 633 pound effort and Tiffany McKinney (JR, 198 lb) breaking the collegiate and junior AMERICAN bench press records with her 330 pound lift.
Big thanks to Kassey Hubbard ’03, who came from San Angelo to be at the meet, Randy Johnson ’08, and Tony Cardella ’99 for all their help at the meet! The Longhorn is always a little crazy and this year did not disappoint with us having 5 girls in the first and second flights each. Y’all’s help was invaluable to your team’s success!!
