2008 Aggie Invitational

Texas A&M hosted the 2nd annual Aggie Invitational, providing a last opportunity to qualify for Collegiate Nationals. The meet also featured a number of open and masters lifters looking for PR’s.
Several Aggies and Longhorns qualified for nationals, while others just had fun in their first collegiate meet. The masters crew from Steel Fitness Gym showed up in force and put up some great numbers. And Randy showcased his now-iconic Captain Morgan deadlift.
We’d like to thank Sherman Ledford of Quest Nutrition for providing our male and female Best Lifters with Quest Nutrition gift certificates. And thanks to Ken Anderson of Anderson Powerlifting for our drawing prize, a gift certificate for a Titan bench shirt.
Unfortunately, the presentation of medals was not executed as smoothly as it should have been. We apologize for the award confusion and for the delays with the team awards. We have taken note of how Tony Cardella and Christy Newmann do their awards, however, and next year we plan to give out some nice hardware.
